Title: Behavioral Support Team (BST) Behaviorist (Applied Behavior Analyst)
Purpose of Position: Under the general supervision of the Team Leader of the BST:
Major Responsibilities:
- Functions as a member of the multidisciplinary Behavioral Support Team (BST) for the Behavioral Health CPEP & Inpatient Services.
- Works with the BST psychologists and unit-based psychologists to assist in developing and implementing Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs).
- Responsible for providing education and instruction on data collection and implementation techniques of the PBSPs to the unit-based staff members.
- Evaluates effectiveness of the PBSP along with BST Psychologists.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
BA/BS degree in Psychology (Master’s degree preferred).
- Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
- Experience working with seriously mentally ill adults or children and adolescents in a residential setting.
- Experience working with adults or children and adolescents in a psychiatric inpatient setting who exhibit problematic and dangerous behaviors (e.g., violent/aggressive behaviors, suicidal behavior, treatment non-compliance, sexual acting-out behaviors) or who are dually diagnosed (e.g., psychiatric/intellectually disabled).
- Experience conducting functional analysis and collecting data about adults or children and adolescents exhibiting problematic and dangerous behaviors (e.g., violent/aggressive behaviors, suicidal behavior, treatment non-compliance, sexual acting-out behaviors) or who are dually diagnosed (e.g., psychiatric/intellectually disabled).
- At least one year experience conducting functional assessments.
